With the Tour de France ending, and the Vuelta on the horizon, it means it’s road racing primetime in Europe. That mean’s it’s also, and perhaps more importantly, Monday Night Ride season in B.C.’s Capital Region.
When it comes to battling for imaginary digital crowns, and sprinting to arbitrary – but all important – finish lines, Mark’s Bianchi Oltre XR.1 is especially well equipped for surviving early season road conditions. Italian carbon dressed in French cotton make a killer combo for taking on the roughest Victoria Pavé sectors around.
Mixed in with the European parts are Easton EC90 Aero wheels from our friends across the way in Vancouver. These are lined with the wildly practical FMB Pro Team Edition Paris Roubaix tubs, straight from France.
Mark’s running SRAM Red, cable operated drivetrain and rim brakes, because its still hella light. Speedplays, an appropriately long and slammed stem from Pro fill in the small parts. Up front, a set of flared Easton bars – – not quite grav grav, but “all-road” enough to match the Roubaix stamped tubs – – are wrapped pink Supacaz tape that perfectly match the matte Celeste of the Bianchi Oltre XR.1 frame.
