Days are getting shorter, the nights cooler. As the slow creep of darkness encroaches further, and daylight succumbs to the night, Cyclocross is once again a hot topic around the food court. Rather than mourn summers passing, we’re here to ring in the new season. So let us introduce the BSCCXKIT, developed in collaboration with our friends at Caste Projects. Fall is here, embrace the darkness.
BSCCXKIT reflects our South Island home, where the cycle of seasons is more binary that cyclical. There’s no Frankie Valli here. The lazy warmth of summer gives way directly to the wet, dark, cool season that passes for winter in Victoria. And so the neon of our Saved By The Bell gives way directly to the grey scale of the BSCCXKIT. But dark doesn’t have to mean dreary. Ditch the Dark Knight, this is more What We Do In The Shadows. Cycling is very serious, sure, but it can’t rain all the time…
As the light fades, and bleak December comes a tapping, let the BSCCXKIT be the cure. Summer’s neon isn’t gone, it’s just trapped in the tubes of casino lights. Let their cold glow pull you through the fog, like beacons in the darkness, on to those twisty Highlands roads. Because really, if we wanted everything to be easy all the time we’d just move to California and write a bike blog for The Big S.
