Friday January 31st
7pm, at Macauley Point Park
$5 Entry fee
All bikes, riders welcome
The 2014 alleycat season will kick off on January 31st, with a 60 minute route-finding fiasco next Friday night. Expect an old-school alleycat, with 5 or 6 urban checkpoints scattered throughout the city.
The Stuckylife crew are running the race as a fundraiser for our good friend David “Fixie Dave” Kennedy and his girlfriend Emily Donner. Race proceeds will go towards offsetting the legal costs they have incurred due to an unjust immigration situation. Read all about it HERE.
If you’ve never raced an alleycat, the structure, scale and radness of this race make it a good first event to attend.
The race sign-on and start will be at the bunkers, or “Badger Pit” at Macualey Point Park.
Access is off of Clifton Terrace, at Munro Street in Esquimalt.
It will be dark, so keep an eye out for blinking bike lights in the park to find us.
The fine people at Brickyard Pizza have offered to host us after the event. The usual excellent pizza, beer and convivial spirit will be on tap.
Broad Street Cycles has continued with our support of this crazy scene, and have set aside some wicked prizing for the event. Stop by the shop, sit on the couch and grill us for top-secret race details.
