Bike Check: Allie’s Planet X Track
Allie’s currently in Milton, Ontario racing at Canadian Track National Championships, but before she headed East we caught up with her at the Westshore Velodrome to check out her race bike: a Planet X Pro Carbon Track build. While track bikes are already pretty minimalist, Planet X is known for keeping things simple, affordable, and still very functional. While less common on this side of the pond, they’re more familiar in the UK, supporting a number of rising track athletes over there.
Allie’s running a mismatched blue fork from Planet X, on loan, and therefore uncut. Of the few other parts a track bike needs to keep rolling, and rolling fast, the CBT CR4601 tubular carbon rims stand out the most. CBT is a Taiwanese company. They make wheels, and sponsor Allie. That’s about all the info there is on them, but they’re nice looking wheels. Beyond that, Cinelli classic drop bars, FSA track rings, an Adamo seat, Planet X brand On-One track cranks, and Shimano’s Dura-Ace pedals keep Allie turning left. Take a look at the bike, and follow her racing in Milton this week!
